Position Summary This position is in the Special Process Engineering department. The successful applicant will gain experience through on-the-job training and by performing essential work duties for Magellan. Special Processes are those that require attaining and maintaining customer approvals for; Composites, Non-Conventional Machining, Welding, Heat Treat, Chemical Processing and Non-Destructive Testing. The position will involve working closely with the Process Engineering Team, and the term length will be 8 months.Essential Responsibilities Process control coupon testing for composite, heat treating, and metal bonding processes Material on receipt testing for various processes at Magellan Aerospace Maintain process approvals by assisting process engineers / specification custodians: Reviewing customer process specifications Revising internal process procedures Writing/revising part specific process working instructions Performing the metallurgical, mechanical, or destruct testing required for process qualification/re-qualification and development Position Requirements The successful applicant will ideally be a second or third year Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering student. Academic standing and experience/participation in engineering related activities will be taken into consideration.
