With a long history of providing high quality experiences for students, the Richmond School District strives to be “The Best Place to Learn and Lead.”Richmond School District operates 39 elementary schools, 10 secondary schools, alternate programs, continuing education, and a number of additional facilities. The district enrols approximately 22,000 students (K-12) and employs over 3500 dedicated staff. Reporting to the Executive Director, Human Resources, the Human Resources Assistant performs a variety of confidential and sensitive tasks involving considerable discretion and high degree of responsibility. This excluded position will act as a key role in supporting the day-to-day administration and Human Resources functions of the department. This is on-site position. This is a TEMPORARY position and is expected to end on December 17th, 2027; the position may be extended. Responsibilities: Supports full cycle recruitment activities; Processes forms, reports, minutes, appointments, contracts, and general correspondence to and from staff; Assists with handling employee leave requests; Handles confidential employee information and information requests; Maintains, updates and modifies HR databases as required; Prepare and submit invoices, cheque requisitions and employee reimbursements; Assists with coordinating professional development events; Facilitates and supports various projects and initiatives as developed by the Human Resources department; Provides a variety of administrative supports for the department; Troubleshoots between Payroll, Human Resources, school sites and/or necessary departments to navigate and resolve discrepancies; Performs other administrative duties that are of confidential nature. Qualifications: Completion of post-secondary degree with human resources coursework, or completion of Human Resources Diploma/Certificate; Minimum of 1 year of administration or Human Resources related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience; Strong interpersonal skills with the adept ability to connect with varying audiences; Ability to multitask and work well in a fast-paced environment; Proficiency with word processing spreadsheet and database application software applicable to the position; Strong interpersonal, customer services, conflict resolution and organizational skills; Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
