Join Our Summer Learning Team for our Kindergarten to Grade Six Outdoor Learning and Wellbeing Camp!

Are you ready to make a lasting impact on young learners this summer? The Superior-Greenstone District School Board is seeking enthusiastic, caring, and dedicated support staff to assist with our dynamic Summer Learning Program for students in kindergarten to Grade 6. These face-to-face programs will be offered, in the following regions during the following time frame:

  • Schreiber/Terrace Bay, July 13-17th plus one online orientation day (1 position)
  • Nipigon/Red Rock, July 6-10th plus one online orientation day (3 positions)
  • Geraldton/Longlac, June 29th to July 3rd plus one online orientation day (1 position)

Contract Details

This commitment includes two days of planning/orientation alongside educators, followed by one-week of face-to-face program delivery. Sessions will be conducted in-person and emphasize outdoor learning and wellness.

Pay Range

$21.13-$33.80

What You Need to Apply

  • Relevant education or training in child and youth work, educational assistant, or a related field
  • Experience working with elementary (K-6) students in a classroom or support capacity.
  • Understanding of basic literacy and numeracy strategies, plus a willingness to learn more.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers and other staff.

Skills & Attributes

  • Ability to provide 1:1 or small-group support, reinforcing learning and activities.
  • Foundational understanding of wellness, including social-emotional strategies to help students succeed.
  • Willingness to incorporate outdoor components into student engagement, leveraging local landscapes for hands-on learning.
  • Empathy, patience, and flexibility in meeting diverse student needs
  • Team player mentality—ready to assist, innovate, and problem-solve alongside colleagues.
  • Support planning, and implementation of the summer program learning.
  • Supervision supports alongside program educator.
  • Support basic needs of students.
