Description of Arborist Duties

• The arborist is responsible for successfully completing residential tree pruning and tree removals.
• The arborist is responsible in the preparation of all equipment such as: Aerial Lift Truck, Work Vehicle, Trailers, Wood Chipper, and all other equipment such as Pole Saws, Chainsaws, Rigging Equipment and other Gear.
• The arborist is responsible for helping with site clean up, this includes: dragging brush, chipping brush, wood removal, raking, etc.
• The arborist is responsible for helping with the general maintenance of all equipment as well as inspecting the equipment and gear daily to ensure standards are met.
• The arborist is required to follow all safety measures and precautions to ensure the safety of himself/herself and all others on site.

Training, Skills and Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Minimum G-class license required
• DZ license preferred (a DZ drivers abstract will be requested before hiring)
• Ability to safely lift and carry 50 lbs
• Certified arborist, or someone with the right experience will be considered for this position (Willingness to work towards becoming a certified arborist)
• Previous experience in the industry
• Willing to sometimes work more than 40 hours per week (Spring/Summer/Fall months are very busy and may require more than 40 hour weeks)

Additional Skills and Certifications

• Chainsaw Certification (preferred)
• Working at Heights Certification (preferred)
• WHIMIS (preferred)
• Experience working with skid steers
