About the role

Client Outreach Worker – Canada Summer Jobs

Lethbridge Family Services (LFS) is seeking a youth summer camp leader to join our Immigrant Services department! This role is to Maintain and develop new relationships with diverse community stakeholders and partners. You will also devise strategies to enhance community awareness about the settlement program client needs.

We offer:

Client outreach workers:

  • developing activities to supplement and support the needs of the settlement staff,

  • assist in the development of content for the settlement program’s webpages,

  • assist the production of presentations, promotional and training material,

  • assist with the planning and execution of special events, and

  • complete administrative tasks and all necessary client and agency documentation.

Required skills and qualifications:

  • meet Canada Summer Jobs criteria:

o - be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment,

o - be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment,

o - have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations,

  • experience and interest in working with newcomers,

  • basic understanding of newcomers with foreign credentials and their work experience,

  • excellent organizational and administrative skills, and

  • meet the minimum education qualification of high school diploma.

All new employees must provide a police information check and vulnerable sector check dated not less than 90 days prior to the date of hire.

Hours: Temporary (8 weeks) – 35 hours per week
