About the role
*GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY: *To provide a nurturing, safe and enriched learning environment for children aged 3-12 years.
REVIEW:
- OBJECTIVES OF POSITION: To enhance the social, cognitive, physical and emotional development of children aged 3-12 years through planning and implementation of age-appropriate activities
- To provide children aged 3-12 years a rich environment for language development
- To provide a safe, clean and enjoyable environment for children 3-12 years
- To maintain a positive attitude at all times when dealing with children
*REPORTING RESPONSIBILITY: *Summer students are to report directly to the Executive Director of KCFRC and are responsible for keeping the ED informed of all activities, new developments, programming and needs.
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS:
- First Aid Certification
- Child Abuse Registry Check
- Criminal Check
- Driver?s license and vehicle
- Going back to school in the Fall
- The ability to plan and deliver age-appropriate child centered play and learning
- The ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with children, parents, caregivers and Centre staff
OUTLINE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain a safe, clean environment for children.
- Develop and facilitate age-appropriate programs to enhance the child?s physical, social, emotional and intellectual development.
- Provide an environment and activities rich in language development
- Keep accurate attendance records
- Provide a report of the summer programs.
- Be familiar with, and follow, the guidelines for the Centre as identified in the KCFRC Policy and Procedure Manual
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director
Pay: $18.50 per hour
